Jeffrey J. Maurer, 61, of Dover, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home following a period of declining health.
A son of Jack Maurer and the late Eileen (Hahn) Maurer, Jeff was born September 1, 1956 at Dover, Ohio.
Maurer was a man of words that to some could be harsh and hard to take, but the love that he gave was easy to accept. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Jeff will be remembered by his family and friends from the lyrics of his favorite song, “Live fast, love hard, die young and leave a beautiful memory.”
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Julie (Collins) Maurer whom he married on September 9, 2006; his daughter, Nicole (Nic) Dazey; his step-children, Holly (Jim) Gibbs, Kristy Evans and Jason Gatts; his grandchildren, Albert and Octavia Dazey, Abby and Zak Gibbs, Dylan Garcia, Jala Barnett and Harper whose birth is expected soon; a sister, Sherry Abbuhl and his best friend, Mark LoPresti.
In keeping with Jeff’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
