Jeffrey Allen Dugan, 59, of Gnadenhutten, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover following a courageous battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease the past six years while awaiting a heart and kidney transplant.
A son of Jerry Dugan and the late Mary (Evans) Dugan, Jeffrey was born June 15, 1957 at Dover, Ohio.
Jeffrey graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1976. He was a truck driver having worked for International Tank & Trailer and most recently Stark Truss.
He was an avid member of Church of Christ at New Philadelphia. Jeffrey had a love for the outdoors especially hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed visiting Disney World with his family as well as watching John Wayne movies and various other Western movies.
Jeffrey’s true passion was his family and spending time with them. They will remember him most for his generous spirit and his willingness to always help with anything they needed.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Wigfield) Dugan whom he married on November 1, 2002; his children, Jessica (Jason) Strickland of Pataskala and Jeremy and Jennifer Dugan both of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Lennox and Tenley Strickland; his siblings, Ed (Brenda) Dugan, David (Wendy) Dugan, Kathy (Kevin) Mayfield and Randy Dugan; two special nieces, Evie and Makayla as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother, his grandmother, Julia Rebecca Dugan and a niece Julia Ann Dugan.
In keeping with Jeffrey’s wishes there will be no calling hours and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Church of Christ at New Philadelphia with Minister Tim Hatfield officiating. The family will then greet guests during a luncheon in the church following the service.
