Jeffery Alan Amistadi, 27, a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Strasburg from a health-related issue on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.Born in Aultman Hospital on April 19, 1984, he is the son of Sam and Becky (Pointer) Amistadi, Jr. of Strasburg. Jeff graduated from Strasburg High School and Buckeye Career Center in 2003. Jeff worked at The Manor Restaurant and also for Dave’s Meats where he was a skilled meat cutter. After graduating, he joined ABCO Services, where he has been employed for numerous years.A member of the 4-H Pioneer Club, Jeff enjoyed taking cattle and pigs to the fair beginning when he was 9 years old.Jeff never met a stranger and established lifelong friendships with whoever he met. He will long be remembered for hosting his annual “Titty’s Pig Roast”. He not only held the event, but also did all of the preparation of the food. He was also an avid outdoorsman. The “Great White Hunter” and his cousin, Jimmy, had loved to hunt a variety of animals with whatever gun, bow, or contraption they made. Their love for the sport was known to all. Jeff was even grooming his special little hunting buddy, his second cousin, Nadyne Blose, to follow in his footsteps. Jeff will be deeply missed by his parents, Sam and Becky; his sisters, Amanda (Fiance, Duane Miller) Amistadi of Indianapolis, IN, Annette L. Amistadi and Sarah E. Amistadi, both of Strasburg; his nephew, Rylan “Little Dude” Miller; his grandparents, Lester (Evalea) Pointer of Atwater, O., and Sam and Gloria Amistadi, Sr. of Strasburg; his aunts, Christine Lance and Carol Amistadi, both of Straburg and Nancy (Dean) Hauenstein of Kidron, O.; his cousins, Jimmy and Jessica Lance, Carl and Mark Hauenstein, Clinton Becker, and Lindsay Genet; his great-aunt, Marlene (Paul) Becker of Canal Fulton; and his second-cousin and hunting buddy, Nadyne Blose; in addition to numerous friends.Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Pointer; and his uncle and aunt, Jim and Tina Pointer.Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating his life will begin Tuesday in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends are invited to the Geib Funeral Center’s hospitality room following the burial where a meal will be shared.In lieu of flowers, Jeff’s family requests memorial contributions be directed to the Jeff Amistadi Fund, C/O Strasburg Savings Bank, P.O.
