Jeff Ray Burton Sr.

Jeff Ray Burton, Sr., age 48 of Dover passed away in Mercy Medical Center at Canton on July 4, 2008.Born May 28, 1960 in Lodi, O., he was the son of the late Jack Walter and Barbara Jean (Newman) Burton. Jeff attended school at Lakeland High School before beginning his career as a laborer.Jeff greatly enjoyed being outdoors, always enjoying a cook-out with family and friends and spending time on the lake fishing. Jeff is survived by his wife, Susan, three children, Mandy Burton, Jeff Burton Jr. and Travis (wife, Michelle) Burton, all of Fleshing, O.; a granddaughter, Kylie Burton; two step-children, Jessica Slutz and Timmy Smart, both of Dover; brothers, Jim and Jerry Burton of Uhrichsville and Jesse Burton of Newcomerstown; sisters, Jan (husband, Jim) Heavilin of Uhrichsville, June (husband, Danna) Pittman of Scio, Judy (husband, Donny) Albright of Florida, and Jean Burton of New Philadelphia; an aunt, Gail (husband, Floyd) Tyree of Sandyville; nieces and nephews, Kalee and Taylor Barrick, Jim Barrick, John Kohler, Christopher Heavilin, Michael (Heather) Heavilin and their children, Mahaly and Hunter, Jason and Carrie Heavilin, Kenny Meek, Bobby, Ethan and Brinney Albright, Danielle and Rachel Pittman, Michelle (husband, Scott) Anderson and their daughter, Maranda, and Jamie (husband, Scott) Necallum and their two children.In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Jack.Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Jeff’s life will immediately follow at 3 pm with Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Inurnment will be held in Union Cemetery at Uhrichsville at a later date.
