Jean Ann Shalosky

September 6, 1934 — March 11, 2003

JEAN ANN SHALOSKY, 68, of Tuscarawas, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in Princeton, KY while traveling back home from California with her husband. Jean Ann was born in Uhrichsville on September 6, 1934, the only child of the late Elmer L. and Thelma M. Miller Roth. In 1952 she graduated from Uhrichsville High School and, in 1955, she graduated as a registered nurse from Aultman School of Nursing in Canton. Jean Ann married Donald E. Shalosky on February 15, 1958 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Newcomerstown. For two years Jean Ann worked in the maternity ward at Union Hospital. In the mid 1990’s she retired as Director of Nursing for Park Village Health Care Center in Dover. She enjoyed traveling and in recent years wintered in southern Arizona and California. Most of all, she liked spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She helped care for them whenever she could. She is survived by her husband, Don; daughter Linda and husband Kevin Kate; sons, Jack and wife Tammy Shalosky of New Philadelphia, Tim and wife Sonja Shalosky of Charlotte, NC and Patrick and wife Renee Shalosky of Nashport, OH; grandchildren, Emily Jean Kate, Christopher & Thomas Shalosky and Adam Shalosky; uncle, Ross Miller of Uhrichsville; and a special family friend, Deloris Reichman of Uhrichsville. Friends may visit at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia on Monday, March 17, 2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with the rosary being said at 7:30 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dennison. Following the committal, a reception will be given in the Geib Family Center, immediately adjacent to the funeralhome. Contributions honoring Jean Ann may be made to Sacred Heart School, 320 Fair Ave., NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
