Jean A. Walker

Jean A. Walker, 92, of New Philadelphia passed away April 2, 2022, in Park Village Nursing Home at Dover following a period of declining health.

Born August 31, 1929 in Flushing, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Teresa (Fontana) Stefani.

Jean attended Dover High School and graduated from the American School in Chicago in 1948. She worked at the former Reeves Banking & Trust Co. and ultimately retired with Huntington National Bank in 1990.

On October 4, 1984, she married the love of her life, the late James W. Walker. He preceded her in passing on July 3, 1990.

Jean was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover, the St. Joseph Seniors, the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, the New Philadelphia VFW Auxiliary #1445, and the American Council of the Blind.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Brenda K. McCahill of New Philadelphia; a grandson, Kevin (Angela) McCahill Columbus; a granddaughter, Tammie (Olin) Gordon of Dover; granddaughter-in-law, Becki McCahill; great-grandchildren, Levi, Aniston and Kamden McCahill and Aidan Gordon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad A. McCahill in 2015; and her son-in-law, Charles “Chip” McCahill.

A private graveside service will be held in Dover Burial Park alongside her late husband.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jean may be directed to either St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.
