Jarrod Michael Belknap, age 19, of Newcomerstown, died Friday evening May 23, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on December 2, 1994, Michael as he was known by family and many of his friends; is a son of Bonnie Belknap of Newcomerstown.
A 2013 graduate of Indian Valley High School and Buckeye Career Center, Michael focused his studies on outdoor power equipment. He had a great love for the American V-Twin Engines and was studying motorcycle building and customization at the Power Sports Institute at Cleveland. He was working hard at becoming a professional motorcycle builder and was proud to be recognized for being on the programs honor roll and holding perfect attendance. Most recently, he was in the process of performing a complete overhaul of his late uncle’s 1981 Harley Sportster.
He had an amazing passion for Harley Davidson, Indian, and Victory motorcycles and loved talking and sharing his knowledge about them with others. Those who knew him best knew of his love for not only motorcycles but his restored 1981 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup Truck.
Michael had an outgoing personality that was second to none. He never met a stranger and loved being a funny man when needed but understood the importance of being serious. He was known for his friendship to others and his willingness to help anyone who asked. He not only loved being with his friends but loved spending time with and forming a close bond with his grandfather.
His unique laugh and one of a kind smile will be deeply missed by his mother, Bonnie and her companion Dale Glazer; his sister, Allison Hunt of Cleveland Heights; his girlfriend, Alexis Holcomb of Stone Creek; his grandfather, Jerry Belknap of Dover; his step-sister, Autumn Glazer of Newcomerstown; an aunt, Dana (Keith) Shaw; an uncle, Tom (Cheryl) Belknap all of New Philadelphia.
Michael touched many lives throughout his brief time and will also be missed by numerous cousins, extended family members whom he had recently had the opportunity to reconnect with, and far too many other individuals to list.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Belknap and his uncle, Tim “Spanky” Belknap.
