Janice Isabel Myers

Janice Isabel Myers, 92, of Canton and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away in Altercare of Nobles Pond at Canton on Monday evening, October 7, 2013.

Born in Wainwright on May 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Regina (Bassetti) Besozzi.

After completing her formal education at New Philadelphia, she married her lifelong companion and friend, the late Raymond S. Myers on October 12, 1946. Caring for her husband and her children were of greatest importance to Janice.

Together, their faith was nurtured at Sacred Heart Church. There, Janice was a member of the Altar Society.
Janice also was active with the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections. Other hobbies included cooking and baking, crocheting, and playing Bingo.

Janice will be deeply missed by her children including Joseph (Gayle) Myers of Canton, Gary (Shirley) Myers of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kathy (Jim) Kelly of Louisville; her grandchildren, Jennifer Finnucan, Josh, Nikko and Maitlan Myers, and Matthew and Michael Kelly; and her sister-in-law, Lillian Dutton of Dover.

In addition to her parents and husband, Raymond, who passed away July 24, 2005, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rita Stellarini, Emma DeMattio, and Loretta Nadeau; and her brother, Raymond Besozzi.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday from 12 to 1:45 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared following burial.
