Janice Celuch

Janice Jane Celuch, age 89, of Newcomerstown, went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health.

She was born on March 20, 1934 in Baltic, Ohio a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Honabarger) Ott.

On May 1, 1954 she married Paul Celuch, Sr.  Together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing on December 30, 2008.

Janice and Paul loved to travel together.  She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and doing various craft projects.  She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan supporting both the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the football team.

Her most treasured time was spent being a mom and grandma.  Janice is survived by her children, Tim (Susan) Celuch of Newcomerstown, and Susan (Bruce) Horsfall of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Adam (Waunita) Celuch, and Monica (Tom) Jones; great-grandchildren, Thomas Crate III, Caleb Reasoner, Kymber Celuch, Weston Celuch, and Lilly Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by a son, Paul Celuch, Jr.; daughter, Catherine Robinson; twin sister, Joann Lehman; and brother, Adrin (Peggy) Ott.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to all the caregivers with Crossroads Hospice.  And would also like to recognize her caregivers, Amy Heart, Betsy Sanders, Marteina Tripplett, and Ashley Bunton.

In keeping with Janice’s wished there will be no services.  The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia has been entrusted with Janice’s cremation care.  Burial will follow at a later date beside her husband Paul.
