Janice A Cory

Janice A. Cory, 73, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from her home while surrounded by her family.A daughter of the late Burdette Franklin and Ruth Mae (Reigel) Cory, Janice was born December 11, 1936 at Kane, Pennsylvania.Janice was a 1954 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She was formerly employed at the Tuscarawas County Library where she operated the Bookmobile and also owned her own business. She was a member of Faith Christian Church at New Philadelphia where she was active in the Ladies Bible Study and the Club 50 Group.Janice was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her family especially to Walt Disney World. Her grandchildren looked forward to mini vacations with Janice in which she would take each one individually, making them feel like a prince or princess during the trip. Also, a special time for her grandchildren were the days spent with her at Camp Cuckoo.When not caring for her own family, Janice looked after many foster children as well as many other children in her neighborhood. She was a member of the Children’s Conservation League and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Janice was a baseball fan and enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and was also an avid QVC Shopper.She is survived by her children, Kevin (Jean) Edwards of Wellsville, Ohio, Jeffrey Edwards of New Philadelphia and Scott (Jessie) Edwards and Matt (Tina) Edwards both of Bolivar; her grandchildren, Hannah and Gabriel Edwards both of Wellsville, Ohio, Clayton (fiancé, Caitlin Campbell) Edwards of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Garrett, Blaine, Brett, Josephine, Sarah, Maddie, Isabelle and Lilly Edwards all of Bolivar; three sisters, Carol (Jim) Greenham of Strasburg and Ruth Ann (Gary) Lint and Linda Lenegar both of Newark, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; other extended family members and dear friends.The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, 116 2nd Street, New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Janice’s life will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Faith Christian Church, 2012 Pleasant Valley Road NE, New Philadelphia with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
