Janet Lynn Vogt, 66, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born February 4, 1958 in Dover, Janet was the daughter of the late Richard and Lila (Grove) Vogt and a graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She went on to work in and ultimately retire from the assembly department at Genie Garage Door in Baltic.Described by many as spunky and occasionally stubborn, Janet was always known for speaking her mind. Despite these qualities, she had a heart of gold and a deep love for people. Her warm personality endeared her to many, but it was her cherished time spent with family that brought her the most joy.
She is survived by her longtime companion of 45 years, Robert V. Bigler of New Philadelphia; her niece, Leann (James) Stephens of Dover; her three step-children, Holly Bigler of New Philadelphia, Jennifer Bigler of New Philadelphia and Mike (Charlene) Bigler of Dover; three grandchildren, Justin (Haylee) Pica, Cullen Fountain and Britny Bigler; a great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Link and her brother, Richard Vogt.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a celebration of Janet’s life, for her family and close friends, will take place later this summer. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Ohio LifeCare’s Hospice – Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
