Janet Louise Winters

Janet Louise Winters, 81, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, September 16, 2011 in her home following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late William and Helen (Pongrat) Smith, Janet was born July 7, 1930 at Dover, Ohio.Janet was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.Surviving are her children, Michael Winters of Canton, Judy (Klaus) Weber of New Philadelphia, Susan (David) Wojcik of Sherrodsville and Steven (Tonya) Winters of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Scott and Michael Winters, Melissa Page and Brandon (Sara) Kandel, Josh (Nikki) Metcalf, Cody (Tanya) Metcalf and Vincent, Elizabeth and Mallory Winters and her great grandchildren, Taesjha, Caoilain and Jaydn Winters, Lucas Gerber, Evan Kandel and Madilyn, Jaden and Aerowyn Metcalf.Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Dale Winters who passed away on March 6, 2010; a grandson, Alan Winters; a sister, Mildred McLeod and two brothers, Robert and William Smith.In keeping with Janet’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours and a graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia with Pastor Max Canfield officiating.Contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44663.
