Janet J. Barnes

Janet J. Barnes, 76, of Marysville, died late Wednesday evening, March 24, 2010 in her home following a lengthy illness.A daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Wise) Williams, Janet was born September 2, 1933 at Canton, Ohio.Janet graduated from Dover High School in 1951 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia.She was formerly employed in the billing department at Union Hospital at Dover. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Gene Barnes of the home; her children, Greg (Marjorie) Barnes of Galena, Ohio, Becky (Steve) Michels of Urbana, Ohio, Sue (Mike) Hupp of Marysville, Ohio and Dan Barnes of Hilliard, Ohio and five grandchildren, Angela (Ryan) Milosh of Pepper Pike, Ohio, Gregory Barnes II of Ashley, Ohio, Lauren Barnes of Galena, Ohio, Emily Hupp of Marysville, Ohio and Nicholas Hupp of Greensburg, Indiana.Completing the family is a sister, Anna Mary (Max) Ball of New Philadelphia, Ohio and three brothers, William (Doris) Williams of Louisville, Ohio, James (Paula) Williams of East Canton, Ohio and Robert (Judy) Williams of Zoarville, Ohio.The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with a Christian Wake service being held at 4 p.m. Following visitation, Janet’s family would like to invite friends to join them for a meal and time of fellowship in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. A funeral service celebrating Janet’s life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating. In keeping with Janet’s wishes, cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406 or to Lady of Our Lourdes Catholic Church, 1033 West 5th Street, Marysville, OH 43040.
