Janet Ellen Beaber, 75, of Sugarcreek, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a recent period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Howard and Fern (Kleinknecht) Huprich, Janet was born August 12, 1939 at Baltic, Ohio.
Janet graduated from Baltic High School in 1958. Then on April 10, 1965, she married the love of her life, Wayne Beaber, and together the couple raised two children, Valerie and Matt.
Janet was an excellent homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was an avid sewer and especially enjoyed quilting. Janet was a wonderful cook and baker and was well known for her cookies. Also, during her junior year of high school, Janet won the Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year award for her cooking & baking abilities.
She had a competitive nature and enjoyed playing games and cards. Janet also enjoyed flowers, collecting milk glass and playing the piano. Most of all she cherished her grandchildren and found great joy in following them through their sporting and school activities.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her daughter, Valerie (Brian) Eberhardt of Massillon; a son, Matt (Michelle) Beaber of Sugarcreek; her grandchildren, Jordan Eberhardt, Jacob Burns and Justin Beaber; her siblings, Dean (Mary Lou) Huprich of Cambridge, Shirley (Ken) Hackenbracht of Mt. Jackson, Virginia and Linda (Ted) Oswald of Berlin; a brother-in-law, Don (Emily) Eberwine of Ross, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Craig Beaber and a sister, Marcella Eberwine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Janet’s life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Jerusalem Church with her nephew, Pastor Travis Oswald of Lenoir, North Carolina, officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery.
