Janet Day

Janet K. “Kay” Day, age 69, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, following a sudden illness.Born on December 10, 1938, at New Philadelphia Kay was a daughter of the late Clifford H. and Rose (Uher) Beans.Kay was a 1956 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and for a number of years worked for Miller Studio of New Philadelphia as an air-brusher.On May 27, 1972, Kay married Donald “Donk” Day who preceded her in death on April 24, 1999.Kay was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia and was an active participant with the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizen’s.Kay is survived by a sister Jean Stevenson of Dover, a sister-in-law, Doris Gurney and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Stevenson and Dana Krebs.In keeping with Kay’s wishes, there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Pastor Kelly Brown will lead a graveside service on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions in Kay’s name may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 156 Beaver Avenue NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
