Jane Porcher

Jane Yvonne Porcher, age 58, of Dover, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.

A daughter of the late Joseph and Dolores (Mowrer) Pisony, Janie, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Twin City Hospital at Dennison on September 22, 1956.

She was a 1975 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and married the love of her life, Barry Porcher, on March 3, 1976. Together the couple had two daughters and shared in 21 years of marriage prior to his death on January 2, 1998.

Janie was a member of the Salvation Army Church at New Philadelphia and loved volunteering at the church soup kitchen. She greatly enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, working crossword puzzles, babysitting and being around children and spending time with her grand-dog, Kodah.

She will be deeply missed by her family that includes two daughters, Katie Porcher and Becky (Alan) Ren all of Dover; a brother, Daniel (Evelyn) Pisony, and three sisters, Connie Gross, Cathryn (Gary) McRobie all of New Philadelphia and Jody (Melvin) Ash of Venice, Florida. Completing the family are numerous nieces and nephews; an aunt, Esther Beans and an Uncle, Albert (Virginia) Pisony all of New Philadelphia.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 11:30 – 1:30 PM in the Salvation Army Church where a celebration of life service will begin at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Following services, all are invited to share in a time of food and fellowship in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
