Jane M. Haas

Jane M. Haas, 84, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Dover, died Sunday morning, May 20, 2012 in Schoenbrunn Healthcare at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Beans) Shaw, Jane was born January 4, 1928 at Tuscarawas, Ohio.

Jane was a graduate of Tuscarawas- Warwick High School and was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Union Hospital for more than 27 years. She was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple.

She enjoyed crocheting, tending to her floral gardens and washing her windows. Jane was especially fond of her former pet, her beloved dog, Bandit.

Surviving are her sons, Charles (Pam) Haas of Uhrichsville and Robert (Susan) Haas of Stone Creek; her grandchildren, Charles (Ruth) Haas, Jr. of Cincinnati, Derek (Brandy) Haas of Illinois and Jean Haas of Uhrichsville; her great grandchildren, Peyton, Elizabeth, Chas and Jerod and a sister, Gloria Clay of New Philadelphia.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Faye Shaw; a son, David E. Haas; a step granddaughter, Heather Turner; and infant granddaughter; a sister, Susan Linhart and two brothers, Glen Shaw and Fred Blackstone.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Jane’s life will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall of the Dover Baptist Temple.
