Jane L. Maxwell, age 71, of the Buckeye House at Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully in the company of her family, early Thursday evening, November 8, 2012, in Union Hospital at Dover.
Born at Dover, December 3, 1940, she was one of eight daughters and sons born to the late Harry E. and Harriett S. Shaffer Case. Jane graduated from Dennison High School in 1957 and went on to attend beauty school. Although she never operated her own shop or worked in a salon, she enjoyed pampering her family and friends.
Jane worked in a variety of positions, including tenure as a caseworker for the Tuscarawas County Department of Job and Family Services, a position that allowed her to work with young people who touched her heart. She went on to be a foster-mother, opening her home to care for one special young man.
She was a talented woodworker, putting her skills to use with the L.J. Smith Company at Bowerston where she crafted intricate detail into wood. She advanced through the company, ultimately retiring as a supervisor.
At home, she’ll be remembered as a loving and giving mother and grandmother, where Jane kept busy looking after her family. She served as a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout Troop, took her children on trips, and made the best Barbeque Ribs ever tasted.
In the twilight of her life, Jane enjoyed a conversion to the Catholic faith, and became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dennison.
Survivors include her three children; Bill Mosher of Canton, John Mosher of Canton, and Sue (husband, Tim) Ghezzi of Dennison, four grandchildren; Lisa Mosher of Navarre, Steve (fiancée, Kassie Elliott) Ghezzi of New Philadelphia, Nathan (wife, Stacy) Ghezzi of Uhrichsville, and Ryan Ghezzi of Dennison.
Four great-grandchildren, including Jonathan and Henry Ghezzi of Uhrichsville and two great-granddaughters, and two brothers; Donald E. (wife, Grace) Case of Napa Valley, California, and James (wife, Linda) Case of Jackson, OH., and a special friend, Kimberly Salkeld of Canton, who complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by five siblings; Robert, George and Johnny Case, Mary E. Myers, and Alice Mathias.
