JANE E. GRIBBLE, 88, of Dover, died peacefully in the early morning hours on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at New Dawn Health Care and Retirement Center. Jane was born February 27, 1915 in New Philadelphia, the only daughter of the late Frank H. and Ella A. Fawcett Weber. A 1933 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Jane went on to graduate from Stafford Business School. On September 23, 1936, Jane married Clarence “Hans” Gribble. Along with Hans, Jane was an active member of Dover’s St. John’s United Church of Christ and was a member of its senior choir. Hans died April 19, 2001. Jane worked as a sales associate for Zane’s Market and the Joyce Adair Children’s Shop.She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, James & Jeane Gribble and Robert & Bonnie Gribble, all of Loudonville and Larry & Betty Gribble of Goshen; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Anita Gribble (Mike) Cummings of Florida; and sister-in-law, Betty Weber, of New Philadelphia. In addition to her parents and husband, her son, Richard Gribble, and her brother, Robert Weber, preceded Jane in death.The memorial service will be Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, with her grandson-in-law, Rev. Jeff Cooper, officiating. There will be no calling hours prior.Contributions honoring Jane and in memory of her son Dick may be made to the American Cancer Society Area Office 12, 201-A W. Ohio Ave., Dover, OH 44622 have been encouraged.
