James E. Weaver, Jr.

James E. Weaver Jr., 94, of Arlington, Texas and formerly of the area, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in Texas.

Born in Wooster, he was the son of the late James E. and Ruth (Hageman) Weaver, Sr. and was an honorably discharged veteran having served in the United States Army, 7th Cavalry, during the occupation of Japan, following the end of WWII.

James retired from Central Freight Lines of Dallas, Texas as a Truck Driver after over 24 years of service. He also had formerly worked as a Security Guard and was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church at Arlington, Texas.

On December 18, 1948, James married the former Arline Shull and together they shared over 65 years of marriage until Arline’s passing on May 9, 2013.

James is survived by his son, Clay Weaver of North Richland Hills, Texas; his daughter, Penny Weaver of Arlington, Texas; his sister-in-law, Mary Helen Weaver of Ormond Beach, Florida, and several nieces, nephews and their families.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with his son, Pastor Clay Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery at New Philadelphia where the New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445 will be providing military honors.
