James W. Bartholow, Jr. age 58 of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly, Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Cleveland Clinic Medical Center.
A son of the late James W. Bartholow, Sr. and Myrtle (Owens) Bartholow, Jim as he was known to family and friends was born on December 4, 1954 in Twin City Hospital at Dennison.
In December of 1973, he married the former Mary Irene Jones. As a couple they reared three children and shared in 39 years of marriage prior to her death on January 5, 2013.
James was 15 plus year member of the 1485th National Guard Transportation Unit of Dover and was called to Active Duty during the Gulf War.
Upon His return from deployment, Jim served for a number of years as a semi-truck driver for area firms.
An avid fisherman, Jim also enjoyed hunting, playing Bingo and shooting pool as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Mindy (Joey) Stringer of Newcomerstown, and sons; Jimmy Bartholow III of New Philadelphia and Robert (Jeanne) Bartholow of Newark; three grandchildren, Katelin and Dustin Stringer, and Aubree Bartholow.
Completing the family are seven siblings, Tom, Frank, Marty, Brenda, Sandy, Ruthie and Kim, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews.
Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. Inurnment in Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman will take place.
