James Scott Hyre

James Scott Hyre, 50, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 while at work.

A son of Mary Hains and Robert “Dan” Hyre, Scott was born August 18, 1964 at Cadiz, Ohio.

Scott graduated from Cadiz High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was currently employed as a caregiver for Consumer Support Systems.

He was a racing enthusiast. He was formerly a stock car driver and was an avid NASCAR fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta “Lori” (Randall) Hyre whom he married on June 24, 2000; his mother, Mary Hains of Coshocton; his father and step mother, Dan and Bobbie Hyre of Piedmont, Ohio; his children, James Hyre of New Philadelphia, Paul Hyre of Pennsylvania, Brenda (Roy) Yoder of Dundee and Mike Alleshouse of Minerva; his siblings, Joe (Rita) Hyre of Norwalk and Jackie Hyre of Medina; his step siblings, Tom (Patty) Cameron of Uhrichsville, Julie (Ronald) Taylor of Shelby, Ohio, Mark (Jammie) Cameron of Dover, Chad (Shannon) Hains of West Lafayette and Cris (Alan) Underwood of Warsaw and many nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Bernice Liszeski, Anderson and Veda McCoy; his step grandparents, Robert and Mary Hoopingarner and his step father, Charles Hains.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home with military honors services to follow.
