James Paul Wires Jr. 69, of Malvern, died Monday, January 12, 2015 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.
A son of the late James P. Wires Sr. and the late Rachel B. (Ritenour) Wires, James Paul was born August 20, 1945 at Dover, Ohio.
James Paul was a veteran of the United States Army having served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he was wounded in action and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
In his younger years he was the owner and operator of a trucking company and he continued to drive trucks later in life. James Paul was a member of the Local #134 Laborers Union at Newcomerstown. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife Regina (Haugh) Wires whom he married on December 22, 2005; his step children, Cole and Cassidy Butler, Ben and Tom DiGenova and Kelly McNutt; his siblings, Lana Peyatt, Jerimaine (Ralph) Sell, Laura (Larry) Sellards, Lewis Wires, Bud and Colleen Downing and Tom Rees, many nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Sharon (fiancé, Larry) Haugh, sisters-in-law, Dawn Turnbull and her companion, Rick and Stacy Haugh and a brother-in-law, Randy (Mandy) Haugh.
James Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shelly Morris.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. In keeping with James Paul’s wishes cremation will take place following the service.
