James O. Lindon, 82, of Gnadenhutten, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a lengthy illnes.
A son of the late Frank and Ruby (Gardner) Lindon, Jim was born February 6, 1931 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Jim graduated from Gnadenhutten High School in 1949 and then continued his education at Denison University at Granville, Ohio. He was the former President of the Indian Village Savings & Loan Bank retiring after 40 years of service and was a member of John Heckewelder Memorial Moravian Church at Gnadenhutten. Jim enjoyed traveling and along with his wife, Connie, they visited all 50 states in the U.S. and all but one province in Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Gibson) Lindon whom he married on October 26, 1952; his children, James (Laura) Lindon of New Philadelphia, Marty (Camille) Lindon of Strasburg and Penny (Paul) Suttle of Strasburg; his grandchildren, Amanda Lyons and Reanne and Jaelle Lindon and two great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Warren and Walter Lindon and a sister, Pauline Lotze.
In keeping with James’ wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
