James Glenn McCaslin, 80, of Dundee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
A son of the late Carl and Lena (Edger) McCaslin, Glenn was born October 27, 1934 at Harrison County, Ohio.
Glenn graduated from Freeport High School in 1952. He was retired from B. & W. at Canton and following his retirement he worked 13 years at Camp Patmos at Kelley’s Island.
He was a member of Alpine Bible Church at Sugarcreek. Glenn was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed wintering with his wife, Shirley, in Sebring, Florida. The couple actively volunteered with Teen Missions in Florida.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley (King) McCaslin whom he married on January 13, 1954; his daughter, Jeanna (Rich) Allen of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania; a son, Charles (LeeAnn) McCaslin of Dundee; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Erma Baker of Dennison and Ila Beauchemin of California and a sister-in-law, Edith McCaslin of Dover.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Russell and Michael; a sister, Valura Pierce and a brother, Robert McCaslin.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. An additional visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Alpine Bible Church at Sugarcreek where Pastor Byron Stewart will lead a 3:00 p.m. funeral service celebrating Glenn’s life.
