James Edward Baker, age 58 of Akron and formerly of Tuscarawas died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
A son of the late Ora N. and Erma (Stillwell) Baker, Jim was born at Aultman Hospital at Canton on June 5, 1954.
He was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School and enjoyed his work as a painting contractor. Jim was a quiet individual who also enjoyed fishing, and attending chapel services at the Mayflower Manor where he resided for the past 12 years.
Survivors include his siblings, Don Stillwell, Bob (Doris) Baker of South Carolina, Carol (Elza) Osborne of Texas, Joe (Cheryl) Baker of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Bill Baker of Grove City as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, David Baker, Ora P. Baker and John F. Baker.
A graveside service will be led by Rev. Hugh B. Berry on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Melscheimer Cemetery at Pike Township. Cremation care was conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
Those unable to attend are invited to light a memorial candle, and share memories or condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s website.
