James E. Watson

James E. Watson, 73, of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 27, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A son of the late Jessie and Marie (McIntyre) Watson, James was born in Wert County, West Virginia on May 4, 1939. He worked for Belden Brick at Port Washington, later moved to construction work and prior to retirement was employed by the Consolidated Freight Company as a truck driver.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Helen Watson; two daughters, Beth (Kermit) Dotson and Carmen (Ron) Purdy; two sons, Willard (Linda) Watson and Todd (Marshell) Watson and three step-children, Pam (Harry) England, Hoss and Todd Moore;

Other survivors include four grandchildren, Shawn, Alexia, Melanie, and Colt; 11 step-grandchildren, Harry III, Ginger, Chuck, Guy, Melissa, Derek, Gene (Kristine), Mitchell, Jessica, McKenzie, and Nicole as well as 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by two sisters, Norma Jean (Joe) Poorman and Wilma Lee Watson; a brother-in-law, Dean Sines; four sisters-in-law, Barb Watson and Ellen Watson, Marilyn, (J.W.) Sines and Nell Sines; a very special uncle, Delford (Betty) Watson an uncle Denver Watson; an aunt Velma Heres and special friends, Kenny George and Eugene Greene.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and three brothers, Dallas, Tuck, and Earl Watson, a brother-in-law Gary Sines, and a step-grandson, John.

A special thanks to Pastor Lester Bell and his wife and to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, for their wonderful and attentive care.

In keeping with James wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation has taken place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. A private service will be held at a later date.
