James E. Maley, age 79, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 2, 2007 in his residence. Born at New Kensington, Pennsylvania, December 18, 1927, he was a son of the late James Edward Maley and Mary Nardelli Maley Young. In the mid 1960’s James established the Tusco Beauty School and the Town & Country Beauty Salon. He retired in 1997 having practiced cosmetology for more than four decades. Mr. Maley was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic order of Foresters, and #510 of the B.P.O. Elks at New Philadelphia. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a former member of the Atwood Yacht Club. Survivors include his wife, the former Eleanor “Lee” Capretto, of New Philadelphia. Lee and James married February 16, 1952 and would have celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary next month. Together, they reared a family that includes three daughters, Patricia (Joseph) Montero of Atwood Lake, Michele Augustine of New York City, New York, Jamie (William) Miller of New Philadelphia; and a son, David (Tammy) Maley of Jackson Township, Ohio. Mr. Maley will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Anthony (Rachel) Montero of New Philadelphia, Amy Jo Montero of Cleveland, Ohio, Ryan Wagner of Dover, Brandon Miller of Columbus, Ohio and Jordan Miller of New Philadelphia. Two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cameron Wagner, of Dover, as well as a sister, Patricia Letzkus of Alexandria, Virginia, complete the family. Friends are invited to call Thursday evening, January 4, 2006 from 6PM to 8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The Monsignor George J. Schlegel and Father Ed Keck will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a meal in St. Ambrose Hall, adjacent to the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622, the building fund at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 139 Third Street NE New Philadelphia, OH 44663, or to the National Parkinson Foundation 1501 NW 9th Ave. Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida, 33136 Â? 1494.
