James E. Barker, 68, of Midvale, died Monday, April 04, 2005, at his home. A son of the late George and Leata (Fox) Barker, James was born November 3, 1936 in Paden City, West Virginia.He was a graduate of Moundsville High School and was employed as a truck driver. Jim was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia and was also a member of the Cadiz Eagles.He is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Beule) Barker, whom he married on December 20, 1980 in New Philadelphia; one daughter, Patricia (Richard) Nixon of Martins Ferry, Ohio; one son, Roger Barker of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two step-sons, Tim (Diane) Stine and Terry (Tracie) Stine both of Freeport; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Betty Barker of Wheeling, West Virginia.James was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deloris.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 5 to 8pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 2:00pm in the Geib Chapel with Rev. Don Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmont Union Cemetery in Freeport.Memorial contributions to honor James’s life may be sent to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
