James Allen Weber

James Allen Weber, 76, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at his home. A son of the late H. Keene and Florence (Peters) Weber, Jim was born at Strasburg, Ohio on June 5, 1931.Jim was a 1949 graduate of Strasburg High School and for over 40 years he had worked in the coal mining industry as a drag line operator. During those 40 years, Jim was employed with Mullet Brothers Coal and then with Hardy Coal, which later became known as GEX-Hardy Coal. After his retirement in 1988 from the coal mining industry, he worked as a truck driver for five years at Allied Machine. He was a member of Dover Bible Church and a former member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W., the New Philadelphia Moose and the New Philadelphia Eagles. Jim enjoyed hunting and reading as well.Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Marie (Basiletti) Weber, whom he married on December 30, 1983; four daughters, Gay Lynn Miller of Columbus, Ohio; Kay Wynn Patton of Strasburg, Judy Ann (Tom) Spidell of Strasburg and Vicky Lee (Terry) Straub of Strasburg; one son, James Allen (Denise) Weber, Jr. of Canton, Ohio; step-children, John (Cindy) Schroeder of Dover, Thomas J. Schroeder and Bradley A. Schroeder both of New Philadelphia and Jeffrey S. (Gina) Schroeder of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and two sisters, Betty K. Thomas of Strasburg and Linda Lee (Woodrow) Beitzel of Stone Creek.In keeping with Jim’s wishes, private family services will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Pastor Ed Scaglione officiating. Contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622
