Jacqueline Jean Shivers, 59, of Uhrichsville, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 in her home following a lengthy illness.A daughter of Jack and Mary Ruth (Moore) Stapleton, Jacqueline was born May 18, 1947 in Dennison.She was a 1965 graduate of Scio High School and retired from Smurfit Stone in 2005 where she worked as an inspector. Jacqueline was a member of New Life Ministries Church at Barnhill and was an EMT for the Scio Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years.She enjoyed many activities such as gardening, reading, crafts and traveling. Jacqueline will be remembered by her family as having a keen ability to carry on a conversation. But most of all, she was a proud grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Nichole (Chris) Quinn of Sebring, Ohio; two sons, Mike (Sheri) Wilson of Mt. Home, Idaho and Damon (Peggy) Shivers of Gnadenhutten; six grandchildren, Christopher, Mary and Jack Quinn, Kylicity and Dawson Shivers and Tyler Norris; one step son, Scott Norris; one sister, Bonnie Herbert of New Philadelphia; one brother, Bill (Janalee) Stapleton of Wyoming and her best friend, Sherry Haugh.Jacqueline was preceded in death by a step daughter-in-law, Beth Norris and her grandparents.A memorial service celebrating Jacqueline’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 4 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Pastor Fred Battles officiating. A gathering for friends and family will be held just prior to the service on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Following the services, a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.Memorial contributions may be made in Jacqueline’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622 and/or the American Cancer Society, 201-A West Ohio Avenue, Dover, OH 44622.
