Jacqueline J. Edwards, 82, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died peacefully while surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Park Village Assisted Living at Dover following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Oscar and Lettie (Murray) Maxwell, Jacqueline was born June 27, 1931 at Dennison, Ohio.
She was a 1949 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. On May 16, 1969, she married Russell Edwards in the First Presbyterian Church at New Philadelphia and would relocate to New Philadelphia at that time.
Jacqueline was formerly employed as a housekeeper at Twin City Hospital at Dennison. She enjoyed gardening with Russell and she also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Randi May of New Philadelphia, Shelley Koerber of Midvale and Patricia (Andy) Yoder of Baltic; her sons, Timothy (Barb) Edwards of New Philadelphia and Michael Edwards of Johnson City, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren with one expectant great grandchild; a sister-in-law, Janie Maxwell of Dennison and many nieces and nephews.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Adrian “Sonny” Maxwell and John Eugene Maxwell.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Jacqueline’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
