Jackie Byers

Jackie Byers, 70, of Midvale, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born in Schoenbrunn on August 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Kuhn Smith, and graduated from Midvale High School in l951. Shortly after her graduation, she married Gene Byers with whom she would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this June. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was always Jackie’s greatest source of joy. She also was a member of the Midvale VFW Ladies’ Auxillary, serving as the organization’s first president, and was an avid lighthouse collector. Jackie will be greatly missed by her husband, Gene; daughter, Jonnie (Eric) Dayton of Dundee; sons, Rocky (Bernadette) Byers of Tuscarwas, Tadd Byers and Todd (Amy) Byers all of Midvale; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces.All of her half-brothers and half-sisters are deceased.Visitation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, March 29, 2004, from 5 Â? 8 pm. On Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 1:30 pm, Pastor David Wing will conduct services in the funeral home’s chapel to celebrate Jackie’s life. Burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery.
