Jack L. Menapace, age 81, residing at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover, died peacefully early Monday evening, February 29, 2016 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia.
Born in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Magdalena Mattevi Menapace and Mareno L. Menapace. He graduated from New Philadelphia High in 1952 and was a member of the undefeated NPHS 1950 Conference champion football team. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and woodworking. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1445, the New Philadelphia Amvets, The Uhrichsville Moose Lodge #740 and the Dover Eagles #514. He retired in 1996 after 41 years with Warner & Swasey/Gradall.
He is survived by five children, Judy (Jeff) Arter of Miami, FL.; Janet (Eric) Bauer of Greensboro, North Carolina; Joyce (Ned) Lengler of Strasburg, Ohio; Jason (Leslie) Menapace of Cape Coral, Florida; Jacque Menapace of New Philadelphia, Ohio; as well as by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He leaves behind many dear friends at the Country Club Retirement Center.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Reno of Columbus, Ohio and Herman of Beaver Creek, Ohio.
