Jack Emil Johnson, 70, of Brightwood, died Tuesday, July 06, 2010 in Union Hospital following a period of declining health.A son of the late Buss Johnson and the late Clara (Myers) Johnson Crabtree, Jack was born October 7, 1939 at Uhrichsville, Ohio.Jack graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1957. He then enlisted with the United States Army and served in Korea as a Radio Specialist.Over the years Jack was employed at various places and eventually retired in 2001 as a purchasing agent for Gradall.Jack was an avid gun collector and was a member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He was also an avid collector of both muscle cars and street rods as well as Harley Davidson Motorcycles.He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Saundra French of the home; a brother, John (Jean) Johnson of Dennison; a niece, Mandy (Brad) Bierhorst; three nephews, Michael (Ann) Crabtree Jr., Travis (Nikki) Crabtree and Derek (Jean) Crabtree and a brother-in-law, Bill Albright of New Philadelphia.Completing the family are Saundra’s children and whom he thought of as his own children, Robert (Tammy) French of Midvale and Kim (Devin) Bertoni of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Walter (Rachel) Hines IV, Robert French Jr., Jessica (Josh) Gunn and Tyler French; seven great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, James (Carol) Hines of Tusky and his faithful companion, his dog, Mickey. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a sister, June Albright and a brother, Michael Crabtree.In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
