Jack Eldon Llewellyn, 79, of Mesquite, NV and Jackson, WY, formerly of Ft. Myers, FL, and New Philadelphia, died Friday, May 20, 2005 at the St. John Hospital in Jackson. A son of the late Stanley and Margaret Price Llewellyn, Jack was born March 30, 1926 in New Philadelphia.He served in the Navy during WWII, and spent one and a half years in the Phillipines. Jack went into business in 1953. In 1960 he merged with the former Tope Book, Office and Supply and in 1964 opened Llewellyn’s Business Machines. In 1982 he sold the business to his three sons who currently operate it. Following his retirement in 1985 he moved to Ft. Myers FL, and Jackson WY and in March of this year had just moved to Mesquite, NV still planning to reside in Jackson during the Summer months.During his years in business Jack was a member of the Toastmasters club, the Jaycees and had been a past president of the Lions. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Wyoming, and belonged to the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He enjoyed tennis, golf, the outdoors, and working with young adults. His smiling face could be found at the Roundup in Jackson from April till Sept.He is survived by his wife, Alice Bird Rennicker Llewellyn, whom he married on April 28, 1983; sons, Tim (Marylee), and Dan (Cindy) both of New Philadelphia, and Mike (Jill) Llewellyn of Dover; a sister, Mildred Evans, of Massillon; two step-sons, Jim (Kim) Bird of New Philadelphia and Richard (Mary) Bird of Dover; 1 step-daughter, Kathy (Bill) Shryock of New Philadelphia; 6 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Betty Jane Vogel Llewellyn, whom he married March 4, 1944 and who preceded him on July 4, 1981.A memorial service for Jack will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sharon Moravian Church with Rev. Michael Foran officiating. The immediate family will greet guests from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Following the service, a reception will be held at the church. A graveside committal service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Burial Park.Memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas Co., 201 W. Third St. Dover, OH 44663
