Jack A. Hinds

Jack A. Hinds, 59, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at home with his family by his side following a yearlong battle with cancer.A son of Lois M. (Slabaugh) Hinds and the late Jack E. Hinds, Jack was born July 7, 1951 at Canton, Ohio.Jack graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1969. He retired from the Timken Company at Canton in 2000 after thirty years of service.He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church at New Philadelphia where he served as the Senior Warden of the Vestry. Jack was also a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445.Jack enjoyed the company of his faithful companion, his dog, Duke. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially cherished his grandchildren.He is survived by his mother, Lois of New Philadelphia; his children, Kris Drummer and her husband John of Bolivar and Doug Hinds and his wife Sara of Dover; four grandchildren, Isabella and Ethan Drummer and Leyla and Bayle Hinds; his sister, Diane (Jim) Furniss of New Philadelphia and his brother, Jeff (Joyce) Hinds of California.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church at New Philadelphia with Father Paul Johansen officiating.
