Ivan Beitzel

Ivan Dean Beitzel, 76, of Zoarville, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover.

A son of the late Frank William Beitzel Sr. and the late Della Odessa (Kuhns) Beitzel, Ivan was born September 24, 1941 at Dover, Ohio.

Ivan attended LifeWay Church at New Philadelphia and was retired from A.K. Steel where he worked for many years. Following his retirement, he worked as a delivery driver for Marlowe’s Pharmacy. His true passion was motorcycles and he was quite fond of his Harley-Davidson.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ada (McNutt) Beitzel whom he married on September 10, 1960; his children, Kirk Beitzel of Zoarville and Corinna (Kirk) Reed of West Lafayette; two daughters-in-law, Suzie Beitzel-Polcin and Susan Westfall; his grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon (Cheryl), Jordan (Ashley), Logan and Zak Beitzel, Thor, Tyra and Hallie Reed and Kasey and Brianna Beitzel; three great-grandchildren, Octavia, Estelle and Piper Beitzel; two brothers, Frank William (Margit) Beitzel Jr. of Sumter, South Carolina and Ronnie Beitzel of Dover; two sisters, Sally (Bill) Sexton of Canal Fulton and Rhonda Beitzel of Ashtabula; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Luthy of Navarre.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kim D. Beitzel and Clark W. Beitzel; and a sister, Carolyn Luthy.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 4, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Pastor Larry Fletcher will officiate a service starting at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park at Dover .
