Isabelle Margaret Shuman

Isabelle Margaret Shuman, 87, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Precious Lord, on Sunday, October 15, 2006 in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of the late Albert and Marie Elizabeth (Correll) Miller, Isabelle was born January 4, 1919 at Sugarcreek, Ohio.She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia where she served as a consecrated Deaconess for 33 years. Over the years, Isabelle was employed at the L & K Restaurant and the Dutch Oven Restaurant as a waitress as well as at U.S. Ceramics in East Sparta, Ohio.She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Lomas Shuman; one son, William E. (Connie) West of New Philadelphia; two step-daughters, Mary (Barry) Russell of New Philadelphia and Ruthie (David) Carpenter of Dalton, Ohio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and two sisters, Beatrice Mercer and Anna Ritenour, both of New Philadelphia.Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William E. West; her second husband, Roger Lechner; one grandson; and one brother, George Miller.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m and again on Thursday prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service celebrating Isabelle’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia with Rev. Fred Wallis officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
