Isabelle B. Maurer, 91, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Monday, September 16, 2002 at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover.Born in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Longenecker Yaggi. A graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Dennison University, she had worked as an elementary school teacher and was a former music teacher for both New Philadelphia and the Tuscarawas County School systems.Isabelle was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia and served as the church choir director for a number of years. She was a member of the Chancel Trio along with Lenora Arnold and Mary Moffitt and had performed at various functions throughout Tuscarawas County.Her husband, Victor R. Maurer, preceded her in death on May 25, 1982. Surviving is a daughter, Ann E. (Peter) Miller of Danbury, Connecticut; two granddaughters, Julia Miller of College Park, Maryland and Lara Miller of Danbury, Connecticut; two sisters, Clara Stocksdale of New Philadelphia and Lucy Campbell of Wickliffe and a brother, William Yaggi of New Philadelphia. A brother, Henry Yaggi and two sisters, Peg Seibold and Lillian Gooding are deceased.In keeping with her wishes, her body is to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 11 AM at the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18, 2002 from 6 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia.
