Irene Pizzini, age 91, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, January 27, 2008.She was born at Wainwright, Ohio on August 3, 1916 and grew up on the family farm at Possum Hollow, near New Philadelphia.Irene was the daughter of the late Mario Menapace & Sylvia Donati Menapace Hostetler.Irene married John B. Pizzini, Jr. on October 10, 1946 and celebrated over forty-six years of marriage until John’s passing on March 11, 1994. Together, the couple had a daughter, Ms. Marilyn Pizzini of New Philadelphia.A retired hairdresser, Irene and her late sister, Mary (Charles) Conconi co-owned and operated the former LaFrantz Beauty Shop in downtown New Philadelphia for over fifty years.In addition to her daughter, Marilyn, Irene is survived by several nieces and nephews including two special nephews, Chuck Conconi of Washington D.C. and Tim Ricklic of New Philadelphia.In addition to her parents, sister and husband, those preceding Mrs. Pizzini in death are a step father, Herbert Hostetler, and a brother, Joseph Menapace.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service in honor of Irene’s life will be celebrated by Monsignor George J. Schlegel and will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home’s chapel with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Those unable to attend visitation or services may send the family personal condolences by visiting the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Memorial contributions in Irene’s name may be made to Cats ‘N’ Us Shelter, P.O.
