Irene M. Bishop

Irene M. Bishop, age 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away late Saturday afternoon, March 27, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness. Born at Flushing, Ohio, July 28, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John and Vada Bradley Minor. On June 29, 1942, Irene married Raymond O. Bishop. Raymond passed away June 8, 1994, at Yuba City, California, just weeks before what would have been their fifty-second anniversary. Survivors include her son; John Raymond (wife, Darlene) Bishop of Porterville, California, and a daughter; Roxanne (husband, Archie) Helms of Urich, Missouri. Seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Lillian Gibas and Jeanette Davis both of Concord, North Carolina as well as four brothers; George A. Minor of Dover, Clarence Minor of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Dennis Minor of Greer, Ohio, and Leon Minor of North Carolina. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene is preceded in death by her granddaughter; Sandra Combs, and a sister; Maxine Moser. A memorial service lead my Pastors Chauncey Eggan and Bill Harrison will be held Thursday afternoon, April 1, at 1:30 in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
