Irene C. Brown, 93, of Hennis Care Centre of Dover, died Saturday, January 01, 2005, at Union Hospital in Dover.A daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Clauser) Yegher, Irene was born September 12, 1911, in New Philadelphia, OhioShe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia where she was also a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society & Senior Citizens. Irene was also a member of the Penobscot Homemakers and a former member of the Tuscarawas County Bee Keepers Association. Irene also enjoyed crocheting and reading.Irene was formerly employed at The Belmont in New Philadelphia where she met her future husband, Joseph W. Brown, Sr., whom she married January 11, 1934 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia.She is survived by one daughter, Carol (William) Arnold of Uhrichsville; four sons, Thomas (Sue) Brown, Robert (Marilyn) Brown, Richard Brown, and Jerry (Penny) Brown all of New Philadelphia; one brother, Joseph Yegher of New Philadelphia; one sister, Elizabeth Toth of New Philadelphia; and one daughter-in-law, Janadean Brown of New Philadelphia; 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph W. Brown, Sr. who passed away July 19, 1994; one son, Joseph W. Brown, Jr.; one great granddaughter, Portia Mani; one sister, Anna Stemple; one daughter-in-law, Sandi Clum Brown; and two brothers-in-law, John Toth and Kenny StempleVisitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 4 to 8p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia with Christian Wake Services being held at 7:45p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating.
