Iola Mildred Mason

Iola Mildred Mason, 95, of New Philadelphia, died July 14, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton.A daughter of the late Waite and Carrie (Styer) Drown, Iola was born December 30, 1909 in Akron, Ohio.She was a long time resident of Akron and Tallmadge, Ohio before moving to Baltzley Valley Road in New Philadelphia. She was most recently a resident of Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia.Iola is survived by one son, Alvin J. (Louise Joyce) Mason of New Philadelphia; three granddaughters, Gwndolynn Gilham of Canton, Belinda (Kenneth) Myers of New Philadelphia and Cynthia (Phillip) Patterson of Uhrichsville; five great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence B. Mason, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; one son, Clare B. Mason and numerous brothers and sisters.In keeping with Iola’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services observed and cremation will take place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Burial will be held at a later date in Chestnut Hills Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls.
