Joseph Allen Lanzer, infant son of Charles and Jamie (Chidester) Lanzer, Sr., of Uhrichsville, went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 28, 2005, three days after his birth at Union Hospital in Dover. Born February 25, 2005, one minute after his twin brother, baby Joseph had been transferred to Aultman Hospital in Canton where he fought valiantly to survive.Baby Joseph will be missed by his parents; his twin brother, Charles Michael Lanzer, Jr.; older brother, Logan Lanzer; sister, Desaray Cantwell; paternal grandmother, Thelma Lanzer; paternal great-grandparents, Ted and Thelma Boitnott; maternal grandparents, Laura and George Hershberger; maternal great grandfather, Walter Davie; aunts, Patricia (John) Doby, Kathy Lanzer, Kelly (Elliot) Metz, and Laura Chidester; uncles, Jeffrey Lanzer, Jr., and Mark (Rebecca) Pethtel; great uncle, Mike (Ann) Lanzer; and many additional aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jeffrey Lanzer, Sr; his paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Ethel Lanzer; and his maternal great grandmother, Ellen Davie.Friends may call at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Friday morning, March 4, 2005 from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be conducted by Elder Glenn Carlisle in the funeral home chapel on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery where baby Joseph will be buried with his paternal grandfather, Jeffrey Lanzer, Sr. Following the committal, a reception for friends and family will be at the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
