Inez Rae Randulic, age 57 of Mineral City, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
A daughter of the late Paul W. and Beverly (McCoy) Shepherd, Inez was born in Union Hospital at Dover on February 26, 1957.
She was a 1975 graduate of Garaway High School and for a number of years worked for Genie at Baltic and most recently was employed by Holiday Properties and ChemPower of Canton where she worked in the shipping department as a delivery driver.
Anyone who knew Inez was aware of her love for animals. She was never able to turn away a stray and spent a great deal of time nursing any type of sick or injured animal back to health. She was especially fond of horses having had and cared for Arabians and a Morgan for many years. Inez also enjoyed raising and spoiling Akita dogs.
In her younger years, she enjoyed deer hunting and playing on the women’s softball team, Wainright Wranglers. Later in life, Inez loved being around her grandchildren, attending their various activities and in her free time, painted and decorated curio pottery with horses and Native American Symbols.
She is survived by her husband of more than 15 years, Bruce; two sons, Arthur (Jackie) Hostetler of Dover, Travis (Buffy) Hostetler, of Sugarcreek; a sister, Paula (John) Bostrom of Tappan Lake area; a brother, Jeff (Pam) Shepherd and her mother-in-law, Anna Randulic all of New Philadelphia.
Six grandchildren, Nicholas, Cecilia, Chase, Tristian, Hunter, Cody, her former husband, Vernon Hostetler of New Philadelphia and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Shepherd in 1973.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. In keeping with Inez’s wishes, cremation will follow.
In gratitude for the exemplary care given to Inez, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
