Howard Frederick Graff

HOWARD F. GRAFF, 92, of New Philadelphia, died at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover on Saturday, March 30, 2002. Howard was born June 4, 1909 in New Philadelphia to the late Frederick R. and Nellie M. Stonebrook Graff. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University and was a metallurgist by profession. For many years he was employed by the Arnold Engineering Co. at Marengo, IL. Howard was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and the American Society for Metals. He was a former member of the American Chemical Society and former board of education member of the Marengo Community High School. Additionally, he was a founding father of McHenry County Community College at Woodstock, IL. Howard is survived by his wife, the former Geraldine Lea, whom he married April 29, 1933; daughter, Carol (John) Freimark of Longmont, CO; son, David (Ellen) Graff of Los Gatos, CA; sisters, Merle E. LeVoie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Helen I. Salo of Seattle, WA, Ruth (Walter) Pytel of Seven Hills, Sara (Glenn) Beaber of Columbus, OH, Marilyn (Ronald) Pissocra of Dover and June (Keith) Brownfield of New Philadelphia; brothers, Donald R. (Hazel) Graff and Paul H. (Juanita) Graff of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, a son, James H. Graff, two sisters and four brothers, preceded Howard in death. There will be no funeral service or visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
