Hope Maus, 87, of New Philadelphia, died November 13, 2006, in Patriot Ridge Nursing Home at Fairborn, Ohio.Hope was born on April 26, 1919, at Dover, to the late Karl and Hannah Blankenhorn. She was a 1937 graduate of Dover High School. Many will remember her as the Lullaby Lady on WJER. Hope worked at Central Elementary as a secretary and librarian for 14 years. Hope was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia and the Tuscarawas County Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to her parents, Hope was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Maus Sr. whom she married September 21, 1941, their son, Robert Maus Jr., three brothers, and one sister.She will be sadly missed by her children, Marlen (Barry) Brookins of Medway, Ohio, Mary Murray of New Philadelphia, William Maus of Virginia; her grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Tyler, Tanner, Jordan and Logan; her great grandchildren, Shylan, Trajun, Nyellah, Lauren, Morgan, Christopher. Additionally, her sister Helen (John) Eschliman resides in Sorrento, FloridaFriends are invited to call Thursday, November 16, 2006, from 5:00-7:00pm in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.Pastor Jeffrey Gerber and Jill Lovett will lead the Maus funeral, Friday morning, November 17, 2006, at 10:30 am in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow in East Avenue Cemetery.Following the committal service, a reception will be given for family and friends in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to New Philadelphia Public Library, 121 Fair Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
