Hershel D. Bloom

Hershel D. Bloom, 66, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, January 25, 2016 in Schoenbrunn Health Care at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A son of the late Jack A. and Shirley H. (Brown) Bloom, Hershel was born March 24, 1949 at Cleveland, Ohio.

Hershel worked at White Bird Clinic at Eugene, Oregon where he helped homeless people for 30 years.  He was also an accomplished artist and musician.

He is survived by two brothers, Gil Gaynesbloom and Barry Bloom and his wife, Linda; a sister-in-law, Terri Bloom; eight nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Pauline, Jonas, Scott, Shaun, Shantel, Leah and Josh and many dear friends in Eugene, Oregon.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff.

There will be no calling hours and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
