Henrietta Frances Mosshart, age 90, of Dover, passed away peacefully late Friday evening, October 9, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover. Born near Fry’s Valley, April 22, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John and Fannie Geis Bichsel. Henrietta was a 1938 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. A homemaker for most of her life, Henrietta worked briefly during World War II at the former Belmont stamping plant at New Philadelphia. She was an exceptional caregiver, and was affectionately considered as a mom and grandma by many children she encouraged over the years, including the children of neighbors and friends. A member of the former Indian Meadows Church of God at Dover, she had served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher at the First Nazarene Church at New Philadelphia, many years ago. Henrietta enjoyed bird watching, sewing, knitting and crocheting, drawing and writing poetry. As often as possible, family and friends gathered with Henrietta to play board games, which always yielded great memories. Her daughter and extended family were all beneficiaries of her excellent canning and baking skills. She is now reunited with her husband of fifty-seven years; Frederick William Mosshart, the couple wed April 21, 1946, and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Jean Mosshart, of Sandusky, Ohio. A sister-in-law Alberta “Bertie” Havinga of Plain City, Florida, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and even a great-great niece completes the family. In addition to her parents and husband, Henrietta is preceded in death by her three sisters; Flora, Hazel and Fannie Bichsel. Friends are invited to call Monday, October 12, 2009, from 2-4 and from 7-9 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastors Louise Worsham and Henrietta’s nephew, Ted Russell, will lead a service celebrating her life Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a luncheon in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 824, Tuscarawas Avenue NW, New Philadelphia OH 44663.Linn-Hert-Geib (330) 343-5506www.geibcares.com
